Peanut Butter Cookies (Minus the Oven)

Now you might be wondering why exactly Elvis is holding what appears to be a ball of playdough.
You might be wondering this, or you might have realized that we added blue food coloring to a no bake peanut butter cookie recipe that is full of deliciousness. If you had already figured that out, i commend you! Gold star, A+! If not, tis ok, everyone we know wondered why we were eating playdough. Not that there's anything wrong with playdough, its salty, and there's nothing wrong with salt! Anyway, if you're looking for the easiest, fastest cookie i know of, then you should use this recipe, if you are looking for a cookie that takes a long, arduous process to make, go elsewhere. Now. Go.

So, Ingredients, eh? Granulated Sugar, Powdered Sugar, Butter, Graham Crackers, Peanut Butter. The book we got this from, well it includes all sorts of crazy stuff, like apricots, and...some other stuff. But that's lame. Delicious, I'm sure, but lame.

So, your first step is to put some graham crackers in a bag...

and smash em' I don't care how you do it, you don't even have to put them in a bag if you don't want to, just do what you gotta do to make graham cracker powder.

Now, throw that into a bowl with the other ingredients.

And mix it up. Add some food coloring, it'll make your life more interesting.

See there, gorgeous. This step is not very important: restrain yourself. you will want to eat it. You will want to eat all of it. It is delicious. But don't do it. Use self control. Or not...

Now, like a container with wax paper.

And roll the stuff into balls

Or spread it on a graham cracker, either way (yes that is what you think it is, it is another recipe from the book we used the book called (cookies! a cookies lover's collection, its a pretty spiffy book if i do say so myself)

and then put your cookie ball into the container. if you run out of space, make another layer of wax paper, and just keep going. Now, the book says to stick them in the fridge, so i do, but it shouldn't actually matter all that much. Unless your house is abnormally warm.

The very last step, is to contemplate this picture...just...contemplate it. And then think about dogs. They're fuzzy...

Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies

2 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar
2 Cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
1/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla

Throw it all in a bowl and mix it. Roll it into balls and put it into a wax lined container. Contemplate the above picture. Eat

Make Your Own Noodles, Then You Too Can Feel Pretentious

So, I've always loved the idea of making my own noodles, and as ti turns out, its really quite easy, contrary to popular belief...
so anyhoo, i'm going to prove myself right and show you just how easy it is!

Ingredients: Flour, Salt, Egg, Milk

Mix flour, salt, egg and milk

yes, just like that

then roll it out

I would like to just take a moment to expound (is that a real word, expound, and if so, what does it really mean?) on the amazing-ness of this knife
Just look at it. Is that no the prettiest knife you have ever seen in the history of all knife-dom? It is so sharp, and it was given the highest of recommendations by cooks illustrated. Cooks Illustrated is amazing...but thats a story for another day, today i am talking about my knife. My knife that will cut anything, while looking still looking gorgeous and shiny. The handle is surprisingly comfortable. And its just so PRETTY. I just cant get over that...that knife could go through a war and come out all sparkly and sharp, ready to tackle my next project with me....but you probably want to make some noodles, don't you, so lets get back to that...

You want to roll out you dough pretty darn thin, and then cut it into any shape you like
thats what i like most about making my own noodles, i get to decide on the shape...so much power! It's intoxicating!

I'm going to cut them again, just so i can feel good about myself.

Then you put them into pretty shapes and put them somewhere to dry for 2 or 3 hours. You should probably flip them over about halfway thorough.

Wooo! Noodles! Its ok if they're not completely dry, you're going to throw them into a pot of wetness (water) anyway!

so first you boil some water, you can be cool like me and cook some vegetables on the back burner simultaneously if you like.

And then you cook them in the pot of boiling water.

And drain them. And eat them!
See now, wasn't that easy?
yes
the answer is yes.

Noodle Dough
1 Cup Flour
1 Egg
2 Tbsp Milk
1 tsp salt

Mix 'em together. Roll 'em out. Cook 'em up.

Griddle Cookies, Proving That Expiriments are Delicious

The above picture is of a plate full of cookie cooked on a griddle. They taste just like normal cookies, except that they are crispy and buttery and delicious! We used a really weird recipe of cookies for this, so you probably wouldn't need to do some of the things we do. Just, you know, experiment...But make them, definitely make them. They are sooo buttery and delicious....

Ingredients: Brown Sugar, Crisco, Water, Egg, Vanilla, Oats, Flour, Salt, Baking Soda (there is baking powder pictured, but that was a stupid mistake on my part...i'm sorry...), Chocolate Chips, Nuts (if you like)

Mmm, dosnt this look good, its sugar, crisco, water, egg and vanilla, before...and...

after! yum!

Now we add some oats and flour and baking soda and salt and stuff like that...that is alot of oats...
Then add some chocolate chips and nuts

and then grab a glob of the stuff

and put it on your griddle, (your griddle which you have buttered with as much butter as you can stand, you might need less for other kinds of cookies, but these require at least 4 tablespoons for a whole griddle) and flatten it (you probably wouldn't need to with other kinds of cookies, but these cookies require you to anyway, probably because of the massive amounts of oats)

So then you let them sit on your buttery griddle for a while (about 5 min) Oh, also, the temperature setting on your griddle should be about 350 degrees, or approximately halfway to maximum hotness.

And then flip them over, this part is a little tricky and might take a bit of practice

Oh La Vache
That is beautiful. Its so...buttery and gorgeous...

After five more min, scoop it off the griddle and consume. These cookies are kind of a pain in the ass to make compared to regular cookies, but i swear to you that the buttery deliciousness is worth it. Completely worth it. In fact, i think i will go make some right now they're so good. They make me happy.

Monster Cookies (we stole this recipe from Cookies : a cookie lover's collection)
1 Cup Brown Sugar
3/4 Cups Shortening
1/4 Cup Water
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
3 Cups Uncooked Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
3/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup Chopped Nuts

Combine sugar, shortening, water, egg and vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Add flour, oats, baking soda, and salt. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Cook in a 350 degree oven or on a half heat griddle.
